Ipamorelin

Also called Growth hormone secretagogue

Ipamorelin is a synthetic peptide that triggers growth hormone release. It was tested in people for gut recovery after surgery without clear benefit and is not approved.

What it is

A ghrelin receptor agonist (growth hormone secretagogue) that causes short pulses of growth hormone.

What the evidence shows

In people

Human pharmacology studies show it raises growth hormone. A phase 2 trial for postoperative ileus did not show a meaningful benefit.

In animals and labs

Animal studies support the growth hormone mechanism.

Legal status

Not FDA-approved. Prohibited in sport.

Dosing

There is no established human dose

No regulator has approved a dose for human use. Numbers shared online come from animal studies, small early trials, or seller protocols, and none of them have been shown to be safe or effective. BOTH does not publish dosing, mixing, or injection instructions for unapproved compounds.

Known risks

  • Headache, flushing, and water retention
  • Possible effects on blood sugar
  • Unknown long-term safety
  • Contamination and mislabeling in research-grade products
