This policy describes what BOTH currently collects based on implemented site behavior. Sections marked for legal review must be confirmed with counsel before broad promotion.
What we collect
Email address when you voluntarily subscribe to BOTH updates or request to save your Map results. BOTH Map answers stored locally in your browser (localStorage) unless you choose to share them via email signup. Standard analytics events when analytics environment variables are configured (see below).
How we use data
Email addresses are used to send BOTH content updates and related communications you opted into. Analytics data is used to understand site usage and improve BOTH—not sold to third parties.
Analytics
When NEXT_PUBLIC_GA4_ID is configured in the deployment environment, BOTH loads Google Analytics 4. BOTH also tracks internal events (page views, affiliate clicks, Map progress) through its analytics layer. Email provider
Newsletter signup uses BOTH's configured email provider (ConvertKit when CONVERTKIT_API_KEY and CONVERTKIT_FORM_ID are set in the server environment). [REVIEW: Confirm ConvertKit data processing terms, subprocessors, and retention.]
Cookies
Analytics scripts may set cookies when enabled. You can manage cookies through your browser settings. [REVIEW: Cookie banner requirements by jurisdiction.]
Data retention

Your choices
You may unsubscribe from email communications using the link in any BOTH email. You may clear BOTH Map local storage by clearing site data in your browser.
